Fell In Love With A Girl: An FC St. Pauli Podcast 7000km Removed

After every FC St. Pauli match, a couple located on the bald Canadian prairies talk about the club they love, and occasionally culture, politics and football elsewhere on (as far as we know) the only English language podcast dedicated exclusively to the Boys In Brown.

Hey everybody, thanks for hanging in there. We’ll be back to normal soon.

THERE‘S A COUPLE OF MINUTES OF QUIET AUDIO AT THE BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE.

We travel back in time to Matchday 15 to talk about our first trip to Hamburg to visit the Millerntor. We interviewed some folks for Winterpause. We toured the stadium. We watched a really bad match. We got drunk at the Weinbar. We got engaged at the Jolly Roger!

Without hyperbole, The Blizzard is the football version of The New Yorker, Playboy (just the articles), Vanity Fair and the New England Journal of Medicine all rolled into one: a mix of long form journalism, cerebral critique and long form narrative all can be found in between their covers.

We met Joshua C. Stephens (@joshuacstephens) during the panel discussion in New York City, and he gave us an overview of his work in progress and we couldn’t wait to sit down and talk to him. And then we lost track of him. Luckily he is more organized than we are and contacted us.

In his piece, as well as the interview, we talk about foootball, antifascist direct action, and where those those two things blend perfectly: the smallest team in the five boroughs, The New York Cosmos.
